Yoshimi Kato is the son-in-law of Hiroshi Kato, the master blacksmith of Masakage Knives. Under the tutelage of Hiroshi Kato, Yoshimi-san became a master of forging and heat-treating high-end Japanese Steels like SG2, and Aogami Super.

The SG2 Nickel Damascus Series is one of the most eye-catching and sought-after knives by Kato-san. SG2 also known as R2 steel is known to be expensive and difficult to forge; which Kato-san does well thus showcasing the beautiful Damascus pattern.
