Collection: Saji R2 Suminagashi

Handmade by Takeshi Saji (from the Takefu Knife Village) a third-generation blacksmith and recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Industry as a Master Craftsman, Saji knives are one of the most sought-after knives by chefs for their extreme craftsmanship and beauty. Luxurious handles, paired with exotic, hard-to-craft steels create a limited range of Japanese Knives.

The R2 Suminagashi knives reflect its name. "Suminagashi" means "floating ink" for the pattern produced in forging the knife. The R2/SG2 Steel is one of the hardest to construct for its extreme hardness, and Saji-san is one of the few blacksmiths in Japan experienced with working with the steel.
