About the Sae Wa Series: The Sakai Ichimonji Sae Wa Series features a ZA-18 Stainless Steel Blade. A Steel manufactured by Osaka Clad Co., LTD. The steel is similar to VG10 but with added Cobalt, Molybdenum, and Chromium. This makes the blade slightly harder and therefore has a longer edge retention. The steel has a beautiful Damascus finish that's paired with a Sandalwood handle, which is one of the most sought-after and expensive woods.
